On sale is a Taylor Rose / Glasgow Style Pewter, Door Finger / Push Plate.
Size is 11.5 inches long by 3 inches wide.
These finger plates are bespoke and hand made to order, and as such are not stock items, although there may occassionally be a few in the studio...contact me for orders needed in a hurry, because its a very difficult design to get right and it does take a bit longer to make.
The decorative motif is a pewter rendition of the a Brass door lock design for Lord Weir`s house on Great Western Terrace, Glasgow designed by George Taylor, a contemporary of Charles Rennie Mackintosh
They are all hand created using the age old techniques of Repoussé and chasing on soft British Standard Fine Pewter sheet.
They are supported, for structural strength, by a modern light weight material, that meets all UK National and International Standards.
The process of hand Repoussé and chasing gives each plate a unique appearance.
These plates are hand made in my Studio in Glasgow City Centre.
They are proudly..... " Hand Made in Scotland"
Please note that these are hand worked pieces, will have slight variations and little imperfections that add to the unique quality of polished pewter.
Many pewter pieces these days are either, pressed in machines or cast from moulds giving them a mechanical appearance
They can be attached by screws to the door, 4 brass screws are included.
Orders are currently shipped no later than 10-14 days after purchase.
